Not very well. According to this "study".

But we knew that already, didn't we? ;)

    Enjoy your night's sleep! :p

One reason conservatives sleep well is because they are so automated to follow the party line....and can scarecly think for themselves they have virtually no thoughts that penetrate their brains. Read the party line from Bush, Cheney, Rove et al. and then just spit them out.

    Makes for easy sleep.

Interesting, as that's a definition I hold in regards for liberals. Facts don't matter. Bush *must* have done *something* wrong, somewhere, somehow. We'll find it! Only the message matters. Let's not let something like facts get in the way, right Dave?

Sweet dreams are made of these.

This part hits too close to home for ya, doesnt it? Since you crack so many gay jokes, seems like you might have some latency there:

I'm willing to bet they probably have more homo dreams than the liberals, and weren't willing to admit it during the testing. We all know they have a problem with honesty

LOL, that was too funny! Considering the source, probably one of the funniest things I've read here in a while! Thanks for the laugh :)

Who do you think they dream about? W, his father, probably his mother, Laura, or the twins? I wonder if any of them dream about Cheney....or possibly his gay daughter? Too bad guys. She has a mate already. But they can't get married....so I guess there is still a chance!!!!:D

Wait, so if I get a liberal girlfriend/wife, she will be a sexually experimental nympho who has sex dreams and might even make out with another girl on my birthday? That sounds much better than a girl who dreams about real life stuff like George Bush. ;)

You know how sometimes you wake up from a dream, and you wish you could go back to that dream? I don't know about you, but the dreams I tend to want to go back to usually involve at least 1 naked woman. My dreams of "mundane, realistic situations and people" are not the ones I want to revisit. :)

At least he acknowledges that his research affirms conservatives are repressed and uptight. Got to give him some props for being forthcoming with that.

In truth, I find it rather odd that a researcher would devote any time to studying the differences between a "liberal" and a "conservative". Maybe next he can study the differences in mental capacity between blacks and whites. heh

Personally, I'm not liberal or conservative... I'm a human being with my own thoughts and beliefs. He can study me if he wants... :)

Wow, Shawn, I've never seen you in the P&D board. Glad to see you :) I am honored to argue against the big guy here ;)

Depends what your type is, I guess :D

Okay, I can respect that ^_^

There's been a rash of these recently, actually. All trying to explain why conservatives and liberals are different. their conclusions are always questionable (correlation does not prove causation, no matter how you look at it). They only purpose they serve is to bust balls, really; which is why they are always funny.

Also... it's rather ignorant to make broad/stereotypical generalizations about liberals *or* conservatives... Especially when we are talking about their mental well being or capacity.

    I would certainly say that his deduction of, "liberals are hanging on the edge of mental well-being" certainly is a huge stretch of his imagination to suit his agenda (whatever that may be). Is it not possible that people with active imaginations/dreams are simply creative thinkers? Do you think Einstein (or any other great mind) dreams only of the "mundane with the focus on real people"? I would be willing to bet (a lot of) money that is not the case. Without creative thinkers, where would our government get such neat toys like the atomic bomb or stealth bombers? {rolls eyes}

Thank god I don't (only) dream of the mundane, as my nights would be dreadfully boring. Gimme a dream where I get to fly around and spy on hot naked mermaids any day. heh

I'm going to make a broad generalization about conservatives, and somewhat agree with what yo-yo said: "and weren't willing to admit it during the testing". I'd say they're more likely to have felt ashamed of any erotic dreams (homo- or heterosexual), and bent the truth during the study.

Why would they be ashamed of that? I'll tell anyone (even my mom) that if given the choice between a dream where it's me and two hot naked girls or me and 2 mundane people, I would take the 2 hot naked girls any day. :)

Because they're conservatives :D ... we're talking about very traditional and religous men. Do you think the very people who protest gay marriage with hate would admit to having homo-erotic dreams to another man?

I've had a couple dreams in my life where I saw another man's wiener in my dream, but it wasn't touching me, nor was I touching it (thankfully). Those are the few dreams you wake up from and think, "Jesus... why can't I dream of mundane, real life situations??" heh
