So I know that the google people are extremely strict about invalid clicks and all. And I've seen many cases where innocent webmasters with small time websites got banned for either invalid clicks or being click bombed by some random person that visited their website. So I began to wonder, websites like, for example ezines and squidoo, they get an enormous amount of traffic on countless pages each day. Surely these invalid clicks would appear on these sites too shouldnt they? I was wondering how these large sites dont seem to get banned while the smaller sites tend to see their adsense revoked quite frequently these days.
well, most of the small web site owners get banned due to their own clicks(in most cases). there are very few chances that google ban due to some was clicking like crazy. As google got almost 90% of any IPs activity, his daily routines and all his work patterns. so they can guess easily that particular person is your friend or some competitor. big web sites, normally don't click their own web sites that's they don't get banned hope it help..
This is what I think, Usually, Small webmasters are the ones that cheat Google. Their sites traffics are crappy, site contents aren't good. They make no money from Adsense yet, so they think it's ok to risk their adsense account and do some clicks on their own, or ask someone to click on their Ads. Big webmasters are the ones that get Google most Ad readers. They are happy with Adsense, no needed to risk their adsense account, they are experienced. Why would Google want to write many checks to 100 small publishers when they can just write one big check to one big publisher? Easier to check and work with too. What else can I think of?
thanks for the replies guys so, say some random guy decides to go on a large site today, and click their ads 1000 times. Is it only the site's reputation that saves it from being banned? Because I know if that random guy went to a site with, say, 100 uniques a day, that webmaster would a gonner.
Google doesn't Ban them Because they have Credibility .. and all people love them So they Can't Ban them Also They Will Run out of business like Makubex Said
the webmaster would be a goner only if he is dumb... if your site is clickbombed just give your server logs to google they will not ban your account... most accounts are banned cos people click their own ads or their friends do this unneeded favour but no one will accept it and say they are genuine and not guilty... and coming to the topic BIG websites have dedicated and fulltime webmasters who will be monitoring their sites for unusual activity or atleast a automated mechanism to detect unusual activity as far as I know these so called BIG websites use adservers to serve ads from various networks.. a good opensource adserver is 'openx' it records all click activity so I guess they can exactly prove if something goes haywire _
its just like any other business. bigger customers get special benefits and more discounts. same with adsense, there are premium publishers who get lot more flexibility from google in terms of how they can disply theirs ads and all. besides, those sites are extablished with proven track record, google knows very well that those site owners will not click on their own ads.
