How Do Illegal Movie Sites Get Advertisers?

    To name but a few: surfthechannel.com, theonlydevice.com,
    free-tv-video-links.info, etc. etc.

How do these sites get advertisers? The companies from whom the ads are coming all have Terms of Service stating that they will not do business with copyright infringing websites. And yet their ads keep appearing on these very sites. And it's not like those companies don't know what these websites are about. After all when you apply to these ad companies they ask you for your web address and state that after reviewing it they will let you know.

Does any know what's going on here?

Most of them don't - they get in through a different website's account.

The companies are usually bright enough to know --- and many turn a blind eye, $ is $ as far as they're concerned.

You mean they submit a different website on the form and use the ad code on their illegal one?

If this is so shouldn't the companies still find out by seeing where the clicks are coming from, after all ad codes keep track of these things.

The way the world turns bud. One of those deals. I'm not sure what one of the companies would ban you if they found out or like Random said, Turn the other way. It's all money to some.

I have seen ads on many sites like these, and there are companies that put it in their TOS, but still accepts these kind of sites for some reason.

I agree with you guys, some advertisers do turn a blind eye. Of course reputable ones like adsense wouldn't once they find out what's going on.

Check this out, some of these sites use iframes to display ads. I'm not sure if the ads come that way from the companies or the website owners make the frames themselves to deliver the ads from another site which they own. I found atleast two of them (surfthechannel and theonlydevice) doing this:

    <iframe src="/promo/sidetower1.php" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" width="120" frameborder="0" height="600"></iframe>

    &

    <IFRAME FRAMEBORDER=0 MARGINWIDTH=0 MARGINHEIGHT=0 SCROLLING=NO WIDTH=300 HEIGHT=250 SRC="http://ad.harrenmedianetwork.com/st?ad_type=iframe&ad_size=300x250&section=551469"></IFRAME>

Its funny how sneaky they are. It just sucks that other people are getting dropped by their ad companies for things not nearly as bad as what these sites are doing.
