How do I work out / filter low paying ads?

I'm having a hard time working out how to link low payouts to the ads they came from. Can someone explain how people block their lower paying ads? I assume you use the competitive ad filter, but as I said how do you all determine which particular ads are low paying?

I don't really think there is a way to find out this, unless your working inside google adsense's office. I have found one way that might work, and it's acutally pretty simple..

First I try to find out what kind of words that triggers google adsense on a spesific site. Let's say "hosting" is the word that triggers adsense in this case. I then pull a Google search query for "hosting" so that I can see all the advertisers for the word "hosting". The ones showing up at the bottom, are of course the lowest paying ones.

Also, there are some kind of adsense blacklists out there containing only low paying advertisers, but I have no idea where to find an updated one or how the authors of the lists made them..

I don't know how they determine it, but there are keyword lists around the web, if you give a search. Include high paying keywords in your site content, and that's pretty much the only way to make sure high payiing ads show up in your site. For example, as far as I remember, any keyword related to "yahoo domain", will show a high paying ad.

Low-paying ads may be your ONLY ads. Blocking some of them out may only let lower paying ads through. Spend your time getting more traffic instead of on something that you have little control over.

No option available in adsense for normal user... Take on premium accounts and you will have this option...

    Hope it helps...

I kind of disagree. Let's say you have a big site with 1000 clicks a day, on a average. If you get an average of $0.5 per click, you'll earn $500 a day. What if you in some way can manage to get the average cost per click up to $1? Then you would earn $500 more a day, and that esimates to $15 000 extra per month. I would most defently say it's a good idea to focus on how to get high paying advertisers, but of course.. it takes some to to get to the level where your get 1000 clicks a day to..

how many times do we have to repeat the same info out here?

it's epc AND ctr that determines ad ranking!

so you block the mfa ads that are designed to generate a high ctr.

How do you block mfa ads?
Okay, I'll take a look at that block list, thanks. I did notice that when I had sites blocked in my adsense a few months ago, Google kept sending me tips to increase my income with ads. The tip they kept sending me was to remove sites from my blocklist. ..... So I did. Thanks for the advice.

PS. The only reason I was blocking sites is because the ads were leading to Porno Films ,oh well.. I did not know of a way that blocks low paying ads, very interesting.

They sent that to anyone who had any sites in their filter. I declined to implement that ticked the box saying I no longer wish to be informed that I have sites in my filter lol. I have done MANY experiments with filtering and suffice it to say, my filter will remain in effect.

most people use the competitive ad filter for blocking mfa ads, not competitive ads.

but these days you also have to use it to block the off-target ads as well.

take a look at your server logs, see what ads are appearing on your pages that have the highest traffic... use the adsense preview tool as well.

i think you must visit adsblacklist.com. it's a great list of low paying sites.

after you get the list from adsblacklist.com , block all of them with using competitive ads filter
