How do I win a a Paypal dispute for digital work? (programming)

Discussion in 'PayPal' started by xenoscalibur, Mar 2, 2015.

Hey guys so I had a programmer screw me over and not complete my work. He did part of it then isn't responding to me anymore. How would I win a dispute over Paypal? He's wasting my time and I need to get rid of him asap. Payment was sent 2 weeks ago. Is unauthorized transaction the best course?

    Thanks

Reason why I'm asking is I'm worried he will show paypal that he did part of it and say he's done. Also I heard that if you say the item was digital it would mean you automatically loose the dispute as digital items are not not part of paypal's buyer protection policy.

    Thanks

Paypal still protect the buyer, the seller is the one who need to provide the proof. The digital item is more protect the buyer because the seller hardly show the shipment details

Paypal does not protect sellers for digital products / work / whatever, only tangible goods.

So, Paypal should end up being on your side.

Worst case, if paypal doesn't reverse the transaction you can do a charge back and the guy will get a $25-$40 bill on top of it.

Simply file a dispute and you should be just fine.
