How do I use .Net framework ?

How do I use .Net framework ? I downloaded a software which requires this programme I have never used it before in my life I don't even know where to find it on my PC I am using windows xp by the way.

 

Its has setup file which you need to download from the Microsoft Site.

You simply install it, and that's it. Think of it as a big library which applications use to perform common tasks.
