    Hi,

I have just found out that some sites are hot linking my .swf games files and images. They are using anywhere from 4 - 8 gb's every 10 days, which is alot and is costing me money.

I have set up hot linking protection a few hours ago and everything seemed fine. I have now tried going to my site in IE and none of the .swf files seem to load while my hot linking protection is active.

I have the following set up in my .htaccess file.

What am I doing wrong. One example of a game can be found on my site at: http://games.simplysearch4it.com/game/504.html

I have disabled hot linking as it was not working. None of the games were loading.

Could you please take a look at the above code which was in my .htaccess file once link protection was enabled.

I now have to following that I have found on other sites.

But it just doesn't work. It is driving me crazy. Why won't it work. Now that I have done the following all of my sites and other peoples sites can access the files.

Why. This is what I have now.

Please help as I have people putting extra load on my servers plus stealing my bandwidth.

I have just found out that you can't using .htaccess hot link protection for flash video files.

This is why my flash files are not getting protected. It works in firefox with flash files, but not IE.

Is there a way that I can protect my files from getting hot linked as I am loosing alot of bandwidth and money over this situation.

    Thanks!
