How do I up my PR?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by cspears22, May 11, 2007.

I know this is a dumb question, but I would like to know exactly how I up my PR ranking. How do I get backlinks and such into my website? I am fairly new to all of this and was wondering how I go about it since I know that sites with a higher PR are worth more.

PS: If I put this in the wrong category, I apologize. It just seemed like the best fit for my question.

I guess since you are a moderator you feel you have the right to respond in such a manner. I asked a simple question, and forgive me for not having the time to research the millions of posts that have been made on this site for the answer. No need to insult, a simple answer would have been fine.

But I do appreciate you posting the link, because I did find the information I was looking for.

cspears22, there's no reason to research millions of posts to find your answer. If you had looked back a few posts, you would have found your answer within a few minutes. It's the same thing as asking how to get free traffic. There's someone who asks that every day and the answers are always the same.

It's nothing personal, so don't be offended. I was new once upon a time too, you just have to use common sense to do a quick search before you ask a question that's probably been asked a billion times already.

From what I can gather, TOPS30 is a pretty nice guy, but I can imagine getting annoyed at seeing the same threads over and over. Or maybe someone crapped in his cornflakes this morning...who knows. ;)

Nothing to do with moderatorship and if it annoyed me I would have not replied or at least not given the answer. You started off yourself saying it was dumb so it's an easy hit. If you know it's dumb, then why post it. Just leave it out next time and ask anyway.

Anyway, I don't think you're dumb, just either lazy or not very organized :) No hard feelings either way.

Article marketing and forum posting are some of the best free methods you can use to increase your PR. It takes a bit of work though.

That's fine. I've been staring at the computer for several hours over the past few days and am getting tired of researching everything I need to know. So yes, the Lazy part does come into play, because it was just easier to post it and wait for an answer.

My wife is very sick and I'm having to take care of my 3 kids, and will be taking care of a fourth who will he home from school in about 3 hours. Forgive me but my nerves are about shot. Nothing personal. I like these forums and hope to be a big part of them. Just rubbed me the wrong way when I read your response. No hard feelings on my end either. Thanks.

Some people here remarked about buying/collecting links. Yes, inbound/outbound links are of vital importance. But.. Make sure that they are quality links.Better quality than amount....

I use Press Releases because they get reproduced on news sites and blogs that have lots if traffic and high PR. But you don't need a high PR to rank well on your keywords, you just need to know how to get those keywords you want properly marketed. Instead of PR thy just getting some press release and articles distributed with different keyword anchor text.

    Good luck

PR can gain by getting more quality backlinks to your sites. There are many DP member here that already discuss and given good suggestion how to raise or obtain PR. search a little bit and accept others suggestion will be good. Good luck to you for next pr update.

I would completely agree with this one! It takes some work but it provides the best links I believe. Other than that good business related links are pretty good - make sure that those pages are indexed by Google though...

PR was based on quality backlinks. Just get more quality backlinks by exchanging links with related sites. I notice that social bookmarking site was know indexed by Google as backlinks.

To boost your PR, you need to get backlinks from sites with higher PR, have similar content and do not have a lot of links on the page on which yours appear. They should not be reciprocal links. You will need to build up the links gradually.
