I sold my site and I am not 100% of the best way to transfer it to the new owner.
Can I just transfer the domain and manually post all the articles back on a new wordpress install on the new owners hosting?

    How do you do it?
PS I hope this is the right area for this.

    Hello !

Well you can't transfer site via godaddy. You can only transfer domain.. Site have to be transfered via FTP to new server.. Server or hosting of new owner.. And database exported from PHPmyAdmin and changed links in table wp_options ... Need more help ? Click me via PM :)

The best way to do this is copy all the backup files of your existing site then transfer it to the buyer web hosting.

Backup the site, backup the database and send it to them on CD or DVD. You can use an FTP program to download the entire html root directory, then burn that folder on CD. Use php my admin to backup the database as a gzip file, and burn that on the same cd or DVD.

If the entire site is more then 700 megs, then you might have to use a DVD.

Or, if you are using WHM and Cpanel, you can give them the username and password, they can then use the "transfer account" feature built into WHM. The account will then be transferred to their server.

If you sold the domain name, you will have to transfer that to them as well. Contact the people you bought the domain name through for that information.

    You need:

    1) push the domain to the account of the purchaser.
    2) export from wordpress panel the blog posts data and give that exported file to the purchaser.

    I think that'd be all.
