How Do I Transfer a Sold Domain?

I have 3 domains I want to sell, but don't want to put them up for sale until I understand the transfer process to the new owner. They're all with GoDaddy, and I see other folks talking about a 'free push' after the sale, and I don't know what that is.

Can anyone offer a helpful tip?

    Thank you,

    Kat

If you have a domain account you can push it to his account like enom. Or even easy when he paid you unlock your domain in go daddy or what ever and then he have to ask for the domain to be transfered. You will get an email and you just click YES.

    Thats it

Make sure he she or it pays first

You can also transfer it to another registrar with much the same process. They all have a process for the transfer and you usually just get an e-mail request. Make sure your security features are not turned on though. That will lock down the domain so it can't be transferred.

A push is transferring a domain to another registrant who has an (free) account at the same registrar. This is usually free for all parties. A domain transfer involves a change of registrar and usually costs money.

Thank you, Abdussamad. You've cleared up the last remaining question in my mind.
