Yesterday, I have started work on Facebook Ads to promote special discount for Christmas season! But, I am getting issue to track visits from Facebook Ads in Google Analytics. I want to give you very detail idea by providing two specific screenshots. Please, open following URLs to know more about it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/94820005@N03/11335081905/lightbox/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/94820005@N03/11335218293/lightbox/ I can see total 107 clicks on my Facebook Ads. But, Google Analytics shows me only 15 visits from Facebook Ads. I am using URL builder to tag URL so I can track external source visits on Google Analytics. http://www.bannerbuzz.com/merry-christmas-banners.html?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Buzz2013 Honestly, This is really big variation in tracking. So, How can I fix this issue?
Bounce rate is too high. Sometimes it happen that people are visiting your site but leaving before the analytic code executed (I am not sure how fast your site load but obviously it is related to your high bounce rate from the ad). In that case, facebook record click data but analytics dont. Try to make your website load faster than right now to make sure tracking code execute properly. But most important issue you should fix is bounce rate, do some revamp on webpage to reduce it so people who are click stay till the code execute. Also, lot of people has javascript blocked in browser which resist analytics code to execute. Both above issues could be a reason for such variation (However, they will not be same (FB and G), as they use different technologies for tracking)
Exactly. Check your page bonce rate. may be user is not staying on your page after click from ads. Google takes some time in tracking of records because that script based technology and its take time in execute.
