I'm in dispute with a business in Washington DC and am just about at the point where taking legal action against them is the next step. My problem is that I am in the UK Over here we have an online system for filing "small claims" actions. Is there a similar process in Washington DC? I really have no idea about the system in USA The sum involved is around $4,000. Thanks in advance of any advice. Bagless
Hi. I've come across many similar problems of lawsuits between UK and US companies/individuals. Your best bet to find the right answer would be not to post full details of the lawsuit here, but to post a generalisation of it. Ie. Don't give us the whole story as it may come back to haunt you, but, for instance, if he stole all the content of your site, just say it's a copyright infringement issue. Good luck!
In a nutshell, I have not received goods promised under an affiliate marketing/referal scheme. Those are worth around $4,000 at RRP. All I really want to know in the first instance is how to commence action in the courts that cover Washington DC?
