I have a mac if that matters, and I have know idea how people are able to take screen shots of their websites and use them as images. Do I need to buy some kind of software or something?

The print screen button on a pc will grab anything that is on your monitor and put it on the clipboard. From there just open a photo program and paste.:D

To take a screenshot of just the browser (or any other app) window, just press "Ctrl" and "Prt Scr" together. The image is now sitting ready for pasting into a doc or paint program.
