How do I submit my site to search engines?

Just add links to directories and your site will be crawled in a few days.

 

You don't have to submit your site. Just put your link here and a bunch of other sites and the search engine spiders will be around to your site.

You could also create a Google sitemap https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/siteoverview?hl=en

I meant put your link in your post or post a link to your site on any forum.

Then you can create a Google sitemap with the link I provided.

Submit your site in search engines and also create sitemap.xml / urllist.txt and submit it.

 

Usually you get indexed in Search Engines just by getting a few links here and there, no real reason to do it...

there is no real reason to submit though. Take the domain in my signature for example. It was registered just a couple weeks ago and already ranks well for my target phrases all because of a couple backlinks.

 

exactly what I mean, just put it in your sigs on forums and you'll eventually get indexed (but don't do forum spam!)

 

Yes agree but can't hurt for new sites.
If it wouldn't work why does every search engine have a submit page?

 

It's not that it doesn't work, it's just unnecessary and nowadays the search engines really care more about back links. Submitting might get your index spidered, maybe a few more pages, but backlinks will make the spider really dig in and get hundreds, thousands, or ... more pages. As you develop your network of sites always link between them. Especially if you can find areas of cross relevance.
