Please can someone explain how to submit manually to Google. And does the same procedure go for Yahoo submission? Also i do not mind to understand what sitemap is and how it can benefit a new site.

    Thanks

    Simply head to
    http://www.google.com/addurl/
Yahoo is more complicated and I believe you have to signup onto one of their free accounts to do so

    Good Luck

^ True, Google is very easy to manually add a website but the easiest way would be to have other sites link to your site and Google will find you quickly. Heck, you do not even need to do that either. Google will find you with or without you informing them about your website :)

You totally do not need to manually submit to Google. Just do your normal site promotion.. articles.. bookmarking etc and Google is going to find you.

Don't worry about manual submission to Google. It is much better to just do some social bookmarking and Google will follow the link and index your site (eg. submit your site to Digg). I have found that submitting to Digg gets me indexed quicker than manual submission.

you should always manually submit, atleast then you get google to know your site exisits and gets spiders ready to crawl your site. also helps heaps if you are link farming, its better to get noticed first by the submittion than from 50-60 links. helps stop being done by link spamming

I would recommend not to submit it to Google..just add it in sig here or submit any story to social bookmarking sites like digg stumble and your site will be crawled very fast

Nowadays, submitting your site to search engines like the big G is not necessary anymore. For fast indexing of websites and pages, social bookmarking sites would greatly help you. :D

SiteMap is a graphical representation of the structure of website. It shows how the pages are linked to one another. But such a representation may be difficult to implement, and if there are so many pages, may be even difficult for a visitor to find useful. So, a SiteMap is created by listing all the links of all documents and files found in a website.

    >> submit your website sitemap into www.google.com/webmasters/tools and https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com

Do not submit manually to Google. Build some links instead and wait for the Google crawlers to find your site.
Otherwise you might get right in the sandbox and you don't want that believe me.
