How do I submit an offer for a privately registered domain?

Is there anyway for me to submit an offer for a domain name that has private registration? There is a name I want and the owner simply has a cheap traffic page on it currently. What is the best way to go about this?

you can view the domain name owner's registration info with http://www.whois.net/

it might have an contact email address or phone number.

Give them a call or email and ask them if they'd be willing to sell. Don't appear to needy or make it seem like the name has too much value. do some research on what the domain name might be worth, and submit an offer

If you mean with "private registration" that the whois for the domain does not list the real owner details I whink you can still write an email to the listed email address and most probably it will be forwarded to the email address of the real owner.

I didn't even see that you said private registration. you can contact their host and tell them you are interested in purchasing a domain name, and maybe ask them to forward your message to the account holder

I believe welkin is right. I have mine registered with Name Cheap and I have whois privacy and I received an email forwarded from someone wanting one of my domains. There should be a contact email that will be forwarded to the owner.

I rechecked, next to the information in the who is, there is a coded email, this should forwared to the owner. Each domain has its own coded email.

If there is private whois, only chance of submitting an offer is on the parked page, otherwise you can't.
