I'm using a popular sitemap service to create sitemaps on my site and they're pinging Google, Bing, and Ask automatically. The problem I'm concerned about is that I'm on a SaaS (software as a service) platform and do not have access to my FTP to upload a sitemap.xml file or my robots.txt file to include a redirect. Basically the sitemaps being submitted to the search engines is coming from another domain (http://www.serviceprovidersdomain.com/sitemap/50924.xml.gz) and not in my root directory. Are there any experts out there that can let me know if my sitemaps are being indexed?
Let me try to clarify. My site is here: http://www.laptime.tv My sitemap is here: http://cdn.snapsitemap.com/sitemap/50924.xml.gz I am submitting my sitemap at these links: Google: http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ping?sitemap=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn.snapsitemap.com%2Fsitemap%2F50924.xml.gz Bing: http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?siteMap=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn.snapsitemap.com%2Fsitemap%2F50924.xml.gz Ask: http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn.snapsitemap.com%2Fsitemap%2F50924.xml.gz My question is, will Google, Bing, and Ask accept my sitemap submissions?
www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ Simply go this link and then submit your sitemap site configuration>> sitemap>> and then in sitemap section. sitemap should be this format www.drsresearch.co.uk/sitemap.xml not .tz extension.
I don't think so that without FTP we can change anything from the website then how you can submit a sitemap.
I am not sure but there's a possibility to get index into search engines but xml sitemap is in your root folder of the site its a advantage for the site
