I am a stay at home mom with a six month old little girl... Would love to earn a little extra income by writing content for websites and heard about this site. I have my teaching degree but wanted to stay home to raise my daughter. How do i begin?

Welcome to the board. To start with write an article whose value does not fade with time. Since you are a new in the field , advertising your article will take 90% of your time. Writing will take only 10%.
i can write about pretty much anything... if i don't know about something there is this wonderful thing called the internet that i can do research in.. lol...
yea but you probably wont be making that much money per article to be going and doing research on something... if it takes you 20-30 min to research, 20-30 min to write the article and you are only getting 4-6 dollars per article (which seems to be about the average offerings on here) you are not even making min wage. But if you are writing about something you already know and are passionate about, you can pump out articles faster and only spend about 5-10 min looking for a couple quotable sources. just a thought. I would try and focus on the things you already know and advertise yourself for those projects
What topics interest you? I am looking for some folks to write for one of my sites and I would not hire someone if they didn't have an interest and some perspective on the topic. Otherwise it would show in the articles and the quality of my site would suffer.
I suggest you work at freelance sites. there are hundreds of jobs available at freelance sites. You will find work in category "copywriting"
Writing for other websites is trading hours for dollars. If you want to build a real business, you can use your writing skills to write your own e-books. You can write an e-book once, and sell it over and over and over, and profit for years to come. Best regards, Melanie

im sorry... that was maybe uncalled for I didn't mean to laugh at her, its just I have read several hundred posts on here and have never seen that question. Writing content for websites is an art. You need to understand how to use keywords in content and how to write a page that converts visitors to leads or customers. I'd start by writing articles about how to write a good article. Visit article distribution sites to see how and what people are writing about. One of my favorites is Ideamarketers.com. They are offering free tele-classes this week on a bunch of topics that might interest you. There's a lot of free information out there and a lot of need for writers. Janis Smallbusiness-Bigresults
