I am an internet marketing beginner in the weight loss niche. I'm finding it a bit difficult breaking into this niche. I am yet to make my first dollar. My problem is, i have exhausted my budget. I need to find some quick ways to get some cash so i can bring my site out of the sandbox. I can write and i am considering copywriting but, i dont know how to start. what to do, how to make bids, where to look, how to advertise myself. Please advise. And if there is anything else i can do without spending, i'll appreciate if someone point me in the right direction. I'm not in the United States. Thanks All.
Hi Mr Pinn, Welcome to the freelance writing world!why don't you post your ad on digital point and see what happens? If you want to go into copywriting, also visit the general business sub forum of DP. Check various threads. You may find some one who has just started an online business and needs the service of a copywriter.
Do send me a PM so that I can let you know what you need to do over how to start and what to read and what to know. You dont need to pay me a penny, of course.
That's not very surprising. You've chosen one of the most difficult niches to enter. I am very sorry to say that, as a newbie, the weight loss niche will almost certainly hang you up to dry. Is your site new? Is your primary source of traffic PPC, or do you get any organic traffic? If you rely solely on PPC traffic, save yourself months of grief by giving up this niche now. Start anew as soon as possible, before you waste any more of your time and money. Pick an easier niche, one without millions and millions of competitors that are way ahead of you. Weight loss-related keywords are generally very costly, so making a profit using PPC advertising alone is very, very difficult. If, on the other hand, you do get some organic traffic, or if you intend to generate traffic by means other than PPC advertising, it might be worth your while to continue. Try writing articles, building links and buying banner space. You never know . . .
where is your blog where you demonstrate your published articles on weight loss? How many reviews do you have? What is your helium link? AC?
Thanks a lot guys. I have a 2 month old site. I don't rely solely on PPC. In fact i haven't tried it yet. I use organic search engine traffic. I submit articles to EzineArticles and this gets me a trickle of traffic and less than few subscribers. I have a blog. I dont know if it's ok to post links in this forum so you can get my address from my profile. The other things you said, textczar, i dont know anything about that. I do know that AC doesnt do well for people outside the US so... Thanks a ton, all of you. This really is a wonderful forum.
Oh and... I read something about paid forum posting. Does anyone know anything about it? How does it work? Is it lucrative? Please understand i need to get some money in my account in the next few weeks. I know there is no such thing as make money quick in IM but i intend to earn every penny i get.
Besides writing for forums you can check who pays for writing articles: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=102
If you pick less competitive subjects your site will make it out of the “sandbox†much easier and faster.
You may not necesarily need a less competitive subject, but less competitive keywords. You will be surprised how the competition compares when simple changes are made. For instance, "camping tents" has 786,000 competitors on Google. But, "large camping tents" has only 6,840 competitors. You might just need to do some keyword research.
You could JV with other's in related niches. Like write a few blog posts/articles for their blog and allow them to advertise on your site. You can be a "Guest Blogger." Make sure you have some good material and a few links back to your sites. For example, you can find a popular nutrition blogger who'll let you write articles about general weightloss with links back your site. Then on your site, she could have a few adverts for her new ebook or whatever.
Find a craiglist anad kick start as a freelancer... or even you will find a great deal of freelance writing opportunities on this DP. There are threads posted every now and then for freelance writing. I am sure you can spare enough cash to run your business. Never invest unless to the bottomline you comprehend how it works, if a niche will be helpful to generate cash or not. You should have written articles for the promotion of weightloss to be posted on Ezine free of cost because they allow free posting instead. Anyways, good luck.
You can always get started with AC and get some things published, then you'll have some quick money in your pocket
