I have worked with joomla for a long time and wanna start giving services. Was wondering how do i start and where all do i post my services. Wondering which would be the best way to go about it. I already posted it on the dp forums but got no response as yet. Wondering how to go about it
For one thing, I would change the title to "Joomla installation and customization", because people are far more likely to search for that than the current string Also, I would recommend that you build a small website, offer Joomla consultation services.
a good way to start is by offering a free service to say 5 people, once you have done the work for these 5 people you can then add these 5 to your portfolio. This portfolio can be used for future projects and to convince people that are not sure what kinda things you can do etc.
You can perhaps start offering a free mini-course on Joomla, and build a list from there. I seen very successful info-products on Joomla out there. You can also try posting in classified ads such as craigslist, and see if you get any good responses. Try start out offering a free joomla service to let say 4-5 people, and in return for a testimonial. That way, you are able to build trust with your potential customers. -Stan
Actually thinking about it ....i have already made more than a couple of sites as portfolio..and providing joomla for free might take a lil bit of time...3-4 might even take more then a couple of weeks Any alternative?
1) Improve your grammar remove "playing around", "wanna", 2) What exactly can you do with Joomla? installation, custom plugins, template design / coding, etc 3) What is your rate? List your per hour price if that is how you calculate it 4) How available are you? will I be waiting weeks for whatever it is you do with Joomla? 5) Get incorporated 6) Get a professional site, with.... Joomla Allow online quotes and show off your talents with a Joomla site 7) Put together a portfolio
A freelancer site is good to start also try to make contact with some of the established site for job work, also check with getacoder.com and elance.
Yeah just to start, and getting familiar freewebs or joomla are best. But never rely completely on them, later on establish ur own website, with own domain hosting etc...
word of mouth. for me i sold services on ebay and of course freelancer sites. and some business forums
