How do I start and manage an SEO contest?

ok, I know about seo, but how exactly do seo contests work? I'm curious as to the specifics on how I would start and more importantly manage the contest? For example, say I offer 1,000$ to the person who can get me the most backlinks with the link title "blue widgets", how would I know that they are the one who got the most backlinks? how many backlinks they actually got? etc, etc, any help is appreciated.

I Googled for "SEO Contests" and found the following wikipedia entry that gives some good information:

Basically, Google is the judge of who is the winner. People try and get pages on their own websites high for a certain phrase over a set period of time - say 3 months. Its generally a made up phrase so that the search engine results are not messed up for normal phrases.

You get benefit if you require their competition page to link to you with a certain phrase in it.

I have personally been part of the Nigritude Ultramarine competition and got 10th. Lots of fun, and really hard work.

thanks for the offer ggt, but at the moment I'm not trying to start an seo contest. I'm trying to learn more about them and how I can possibly use one to benefit my sites' serps. if anybody else can provide some more info, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks
