How do I speed up my website's loading time? Mine seems kind of slow, so I would like to make it quicker if it's possible, but have no idea how to do so. Any help is greatly appreciated.
You could either make it so your site does not have to load as many things. i.e if you have a lot of images you could decrease their quality or take some off. Or you could just need to get a new host.
I wrote some blog posts about how to speed up your site/blog. Using different techniques it's possible to get a really fast loading site. E.g. using a cookieless domain, combining/minifying CSS/JSS, using optimized images, CSS sprites, ... My WP blog for example has a Google Page Speed score of 95... I made a site that has 98 ...
Are your images optimized for the web? For instance, shrinking them to the actual size displayed on the site or even a hair smaller and using your code to make them display at the size you want.
If you are using Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress, or another popular script as your platform, you could look for a caching plugin, which would speed it up. You may be able to allocate more RAM and bandwidth to your site, if you are on a VPS or dedicated server (for your web host). Make sure your code is clean (you don't have many mistakes). If you have any Flash, I'd remove it.
And also try this: 1.Use command %temp% and delete all files in this folder 2.Run disk cleanup in system tools 3.Run disk defragmentation
Hi... The load time of websites is one of the most important factors affecting its usability; most Internet users will just skip a site altogether if it fails to load within a couple of seconds. Below you will find the summary of the “Speed Up Your Site†series. These are simple yet effective ways to make sure that your website is running fast. Optimize Images Image Formats Optimize Your CSS Use a Slash on Your Links Use the Height and Width Tags Reduce the HTTP Requests
WP Super Cache plugin does not help when it comes to GOOD optimization. It does NOT help when your WP is loading 9 JavaScripts, 7 CSS files and the images are NOT optimized. Use a Slash on Your Links ... does not help regarding loading speed. I wrote a post about "Boosting The Loading Speed Of Your WordPress Blog" ... I would take a look if you are interested in a good, optimized, fast loading WP blog. I am very focused at "Front-End Performance Optimizing"
Use Yslow it tells you what to do for improving the pagespeed/loadtime if you are using a CMS like Joomla, Wordpress or Drupal you can Google/search on the issue Yslow stated.
If you do use a wysiwyg editor, most times the will add useless code to your pages for example, many will leave empty tags (ie. <font> </font>). Removing any of those excess tags will not only speed up your load time, but make you pages validate a lot cleaner.
The only solution to your problem is just open all ur images in photoshop and save them as save for webpage. Decrease the quality of the images and save them . U will notice that their size has decreased considerably.
