I need to specify all the US states except for Hawaii and Alaska in my Google My Business settings ( screenshot https://www.dropbox.com/s/7w37alvooct2jer/Screen%20Shot%202021-02-05%20at%208.54.38%20PM.jpg?dl=0 ) as my service areas, but it does not allow me to enter all the 48 states I need. It allows adding up to 20 areas ( screenshot https://www.dropbox.com/s/o9rxl0tlptuy59z/Screen%20Shot%202021-02-05%20at%209.15.16%20PM.jpg?dl=0 ). If I use the whole USA as my service area, then it covers the states I don’t serve (Hawaii and Alaska), which is a problem. What’s the solution?
The same solution that has been used since HI and AK became states in 1959. "Lower 48 States" has meant the USA minus AK and HI since then. What I don't understand is why you want to limit your customers to just the Lower 48 States.
Thanks for your reply. I tried to use "Lower 48 States" as my service area, but it won't let me add that to my Google My Business service areas.
That is stupid since it has been a VALID service area definition for 62 years. Try "Continental U.S." or "Continental States" or "48 States" and see if your service provider is smart enough to know them.
I lived 17 years in Alaska, first starting in 1969, and have visited many times while living outside Alaska. Alaskans universally use the phrase "the Lower 48."
