How do I see how many backlinks I have?

this is a great discussion.

what i am thinking is that one should check all the search engine sites for your backlinks since i am thinking that if a backlink is on google but not on msn, then msn won't use that backlink...and vice versa..

so is your standing on each search engine dependent on only the backlinks that that particular search engine can see?

If so, wouldn't the backlinks for each search engine be used more than the ones from other utilities?
