haha, if something happens to the guys account who is trying to complain to google then it will be really funny. Surely these are not the days for honesty or being loyal to someone.

Dear Dreads, whilst your cause may be noble, your methods are not.

Nobody likes a thief. Reporting a thief is not "tattling"

Sending 10 emails to google and starting a thread on DP in an attempt to shut down adsense on a site seems to be the extra mile that only someone with a personal stake (i.e. niche rival) would go.

I think after reporting once, one should move on with their lives...

Google is pretty slow. Sometimes they need a little bit of extra motivation.

mind our own business eh? well these sites violating TOS are not minding their own business and also making worse from our business, hell I was earning 7 figures way back in 2004-2005. now I barely make it 4 figures since they incorporate this smart pricing mofo piece of crap! where did this all come from? Yes from those goody all violators you just let slipped away cause of your philosophy of minding your own business. or was it you that's also violating and telling us all to mind our business?

my 4 cents on this fiasco

That's horse puckey. I lost a network of 6 sites last fall and all of the content was unique and well written. F*** google. I think a competitor reported me.

It is just like reporting a DMCA violation on Youtube. They don't actually check to see if there is a violation, they just pull the video and suspend the account of the user that posted it.

It is "good business" for the most unscrupulous to hit all their competitor's pages and report them - especially when they are doing nothing wrong.

    Reported you for what?

If you weren't breaking the terms of your agreement with Google, what could they have reported you for?

I was doing the designer handbag, shoe, sunglass market months before the spammers got in. I'm sure a competitor reported me. Although, I made my money off it before they did, such a shame I had to let the domains expire and start all over on another platform.

If you were innocent, you could have just filed a Reconsideration Request.

That's a really good question Will. I had PR2 sites in only one Google update, and they completely dropped out of the SERPs.

I think you misunderstand. I didn't lose my Adsense account. I was dropped from the SERPs. They have no obligation to include me in the SERPs. If I had violated my Adsense account, I probably would have been warned or shut down.

I could have, but they were .infos with private reg. It would have cost me nearly $18 @ GoDaddy to renew them, that's 6 x $18 plus the CMS needed a do-over. I took my earnings from Yahoo and MSN traffic and then walked.

I've done things where I may not have been innocent before, but this wasn't one of them.

People who do markets like Pharma know what I am talking about with competitor inspired SERP drops.

I can tell you don't advertise on google adwords. as an advertiser, that makes me angry people cheat, then theres people like you who don't think it through and see all it does in the end is hurt the advertiser.
