How do I remove the original joomla banner ad

    Hi,

I have installed my Joomla website through host gator using the fantastico software. I am in the middle of creating the site and making it my own, but I do not know how to remove that stupid banner ad at the bottom. It is the same one throughout the site. It is an ad for Joomla. It is in the way.

Plus, is there anyway to make my pages longer than the original frame of the website? I do not want to extend outside the frame but I want the frame to extend depending on what I need to put on the page.

    Hi,

I don't know which position you're trying to move it from, you said at the bottom. From the backend admin panel at the top go to Components/Banner/Banners, this will show you all banners installed by default. You can delete and/or replace these with your own here. Also, if you go to Extensions/Template Manager/(select your template), then select Preview from the top. This will show you all available positions to move modules around for your template.

I hope this helps if not, please ask again.

I think that banner is just a module (it comes with every Joomla installation), just go to administration area, and unpublish the banner module.. (extension -> module manager)

Just stick with it. There's a lot to learn but it's all doable and worth it to bust through obstacles. The alternative is to outsource, and sometimes you have to in order to deliver.
