ok so in my category im bidding only 0.10 and my ad is on the 3rd page of sonpsored links. Now my landing page only has the exact same keyphrase that my ad is about like 3 times on my site. Is it ok if I only use one adgroup and really focus on optimizing the ad and landing page to match? I mean really my website is only about one niche, so why does everyone say use alot of adgroups? I want the users to type in the exact phrase thats about my ad. Like lets say my exact phrase im tarketing is " burning dvds" Cant I just make one ad that says something like this: Burning DVDS new methods to burn dvds Burning DVDs made easy Now lets say the keyword phrase "burning dvds" gets 15,000 views per month on average. Can I just target that phrase and set my keyword list to say only: [burning dvds] -free Thats it, can I just use two keywords like that because all I want is for users that type that exact phrase in to see my ad. Does that make sense? I mean 15,000 searches per month seems like plenty to me, and I only want to target the people that type in that exact phrase. Does this make sense? LOL, thanks Edit: hey guys, on one of my adgroups I have the 2nd position! The bad news is last month it only got 778 searches per month. Do you guys think this is a small niche worth doing with such low searches per month? I mean I heard something about really small niches lowering something....lol. Im not sure. Also will doing searches on google to check my ad position lower my CTR since im giving it page impressions but not clicks? Sorry guys another question here, does the overture keyword tool show search terms that are plural? Like if I put in books it only brings up singular phrases. Ive tried everything I can think of and it never brings up plural keywords with a s on the end. So this could mean really I need to target plural words for say "hiking book" instead I should target hiking books?
Well of your on the third page don't except many clicks and even less conversions.....Your bid is very low you might want to increase. .....Great you have 2nd position! I advise you keep that positions just for the extra click but i wouldn't bother optimizing to such a small audience.
Overture doesn't distinguish between plurals. Optimizing works great, and improving CTR will get you better positioning and lower prices. However, that doesn't have to turn into better ROI. In my opinion, you should optimize for "buyers" not for high CTR. Bill
You'd be amazed the different combinations of keywords people search for these days. One popular quote that always comes up is that up to 50% of web searches use five keywords or more. By keeping your keyword list so small you'd be restricting your target audience a lot. what about if someone typed in "how can i burn dvds", or "dvd burning"
