HI I have a WP blog on wordpress.com I want to set up google analytic to monitor traffic to my website. However I searched the web about ways of putting code on wordpress blog. Everyone there had suggested to put the code in my wp theme's footer.php however I have selected truly minimal theme for my blog and when i go to see its css, a css edit opens with nothing written there. I tried to search how to locate the footer.php but couldnt find it. can any one please guide me how to install google analytic code to my blog. Ajay
I would say try the plugin "Add-Meta-Tags plugin" But you are likely using one of the other SEO plugins like Yoast, or All In One or SEO ultimate yes? Not ideal though.
the problem is i m using wordpress.com and not wordpress.org so i cant see google analyticator in my settings. how do it now?
Does jetpack not have a solution? TBH I don't know much about hosted WP.com blog set ups Someone who has experience will hopefully pop by as would be interesting to see what's what...
You can't add Google Analytics to WordPress.com blog. Because wp.com users have no FTP access, and cannot install plugins. This is a feature requested by wp.com users for a long time, but they haven't added it yet. As of now you will have to use the stats provided by WordPress.com. Yes, I know its features are not even close to Google Analytics. But there are no other options.
You can use some plugin or can put it somewhere in header/footer file. Make sure to include it before body tag ends.
This post is about a WordPress.com blog, you won't get access to header and footer files in a WordPress.COM blog. The plugin and theme editings are possible in WordPress.ORG
