Can you give as some basic information about your website? Without knowing anything about your website I can only suggest basic marketing steps like ppc, banner advertising, posting articles in the article directories, link exchange, paid blog posts, blog commenting...
The ones mentioned above are good. You can also use videos too. A trick I had learned is that if you make a video and submit it to several video sites like youtube, dailymotion, metacafe, and etc. google will pick them up super fast. In fact if done right and depending on the subject of your video you could be on the first page within a hour.
Actually there is a whole formula to video. I have done a lot of video marketing and got a course (Video Marketing Intensive). If you do it right you can get more views and targeted traffic to your site.
Another tip is to submit articles to article submission sites. If your a good writer you can write a good article about a subject that pertains to your website. The more you submit your article the exposure it will get. There are sites that comb the article submission sites every day looking for new and fresh content. So the better your article is the more chance you will have of getting your article onto hundreds if not thousands of other websites. Of course make sure in your bio section you have a link to your website and describe a little about yourself.

for mdvonline. Yea I was just posting a quick response. I did not go into details on it. I also know about using video to market your sites. I have used it before to get on the first page of google. In fact one site I had had 3 spots on the first page before on a search term that I concentrated on. But thanks though.
There are many different marketing methods open to you. Some are paid (PPC), others you can learn to do for free (article submission to various directories, social networking, video marketing, forum marketing). You must allow it time, and invest considerable elbow grease. If you have a marketing budget...all the better! Good luck with it all
