How do i NOT get ripped off?

    Hi

I recently bought 5 articles from someone here. They told me they were unique... but they forgot to take someone elses copywrite out of one of the articles... *sigh*.. what a waste of $25

Anyway... how do i avoid this in the future?... what should i look for?

Obviously you check itrader points.. but honestly... maybe the person you bought the content off is just better at hiding it.

    Your opinions would be appreciated

Simple. If it turns out that the articles are not unique, inform the seller. If he doesn't give the money back, give a negative itrader and file a complaint at PayPal.

There is no easy way to do it....

I sell alot of content, and occasionally I come across a client who is a little sketchy about paying upfront. My solution is 50% payment upfront, then I deliver the content, they check copyscape, and then send the remainder of the payment.

I am protected because I will just publish the articles on one of my blogs if they decide to not send the 2nd half of the payment, and the buyer is happy because they get the chance to verify the content.

The very best way is to locate a good writer who you can always buy content from, that way you can establish trust.

    Good Luck!

Of course a negative Itrader is a must!

PayPal does not side with the buyer in this type of transaction, they only cover the buyer when you are purchasing a tangible good.

However, it is still good to send a complaint to PayPal because if they receive enough complaints against the user, they may investigate them for fraudulent activity and possibly ban their account.

Prior to purchase get a snippet of the article and run it through copyscape.

You can also google the titles.

Never buy more than 10 articles in a batch and halve that number if it is from someone you have not done business with previously.

Only purchase from those with good itrader related to writing content. Let others risk their money with the unknown. Might cost you more but better to pay for quality than get scammed.

When you find writers you trust stick with them.

I always insist that articles are delivered to me for me to check through copyscape prior to making payment. That, at least, allows me to be satisfied with the uniqueness and quality of the articles which I am going to buy.

Even so, there is nothing to stop a rogue seller from using or further selling the same articles later to unsuspecting buyers and to the detriment of the original buyer.

Another thing to consider is look at the person's blog or anything else they have written. You can get an idea of their writing style and if you'd want to purchase their articles. I think getting Copyscaped articles also helps....some writers will run the articles through Copyscape (Premium) before selling them. That's always a good sign. :)

Since you already have a positive iTrader, you can request for the articles to be delivered to you and thereby check it. If it suits you, then you can pay for it. But if not you can just ignore it or inform the writer to do necessary revisions. That's what my clients did when I started writing for DP members.

If you are using the free copyscape searches, you can't. But if you purchase searches, then you can just copy and paste your content to check it.

Great tips here guys & chicks! If the person has been banned and has a website put a negative post reflecting that site.

Last year I lost $700 to dodgy sellers - it opens your eyes! Learn from the experience is what you gained

Also try to ask the sellers if they researched and wrote the articles themselves. I see a lot of articles that pass Copyscape, but are clearly "spun" knock offs of another article. Some sellers will sell 50 spun copies from 1 article that they didn't even write to start with. The spinners change a few words, but any judge in the world can tell they came from the original.

You also have to worry about buying unique articles that check out ok today, but in 3-4 weeks down the road they sell them again to someone else, and so on and so on.

It is an unfortunate thing and our quest to find the best articles at the lowest prices creates this scenario. I am always looking for the best deals, but have learned that paying a little more per article for "readability" and uniqueness is well worth it.

I have received some articles that were spun so bad, they made absolutely NO sense what so ever. Sometime we get lucky and can get our money back.

I now try to offer payment after delivery and offer all my contact information for trust. Or I will pay for 1 of the 5-10 articles in advance to check it out and if I like it will buy the remaining articles of the pack.

Hope that helps a little more.
