How Do I Market To Multiple Countries with Amazon?

I am thinking of marketing some affiliate products through Amazon, my main audience would probably be the UK and the USA, how can I overcome the problem of amazon.co.uk and amazon.com. For example if i had a product on my website and wanted to promote the product to the UK and USA, would I have to put two different links on my site, or is there a way around this? Any help is appreciated, thank you.

There are several ways you can handle this

The first is the way you have explained in your post and I have done this in the past but its a pain and don't look that good

The second is to use a Link localizer which recognizes which country the visitor is visiting your site from and then changes the link when they click on the buy no or text link and sends them to the relevant country where they can buy from there own country Amazon site.

Sounds great but the reality is the ones currently available SUCK and are more trouble than they are worth they dont recognize prodcuts in different countrus with different ASIN number not if its a slightly different product it just send your visitor to search pages which is frustrating for the visitor.
I got sick of the Interntional traffic I was losing without haveing a way for them to buy from my site so I had my programmers develop a custom one which I am about to launch this weekend as a WSO its called the Amz Link Localizer and fixes all the issues like products not found, different ASIN numbers etc.

Im new here so I cant really promote it, but once I have the required posts and am allowed to add add a sig file i will give more information but for now that is about all I can say

Thanks for your excellent reply Gaz; is your product available yet, I am signed up to your emails, but don't recall seeing anything as yet? I am amazed that Amazon does not have software to do this, I know that eBay does offer the solution to redirect you to the correct country.

Yes its available now its should be in my signature the link for the Localizer just waiting on clickbank but if you contact me at my support desk I can direct you to the link

It works great but its very important you take the time to watch the Instructional videos which will walk you through step by step. There is a lot of flexibility with customizing links etc and its real easy if you follow the videos but if you don't it can get confusing.

There are two ways you could do this. Firstly, you can use a geo targeting script to display the correct aff link to the user. Although I think the better option if you specifically want to target the US/UK markets would be to get a .com to target US visitors and get a .co.uk to target the UK. Sure it means promoting two websites instead of one but with the ccTLD you will gain momentum in the search engines faster then you would promoting a .com to the UK. It also means you wouldn't have to worry about using a geo targeting script.
