How do I market my blog?

    Hi
    I have a site Italiatrips.com

I see people say they have 20 000 impressions or over 5000 visitors a month and there site is only 4 months old. How do they do that? How do I get that much visitors or more? how should I market my blog? I have already done directory submissions, and some article submissions.

    thanks

It takes time and dedication to reach at that point, blogging is like running a marathon. Sure you may follow some certain formulas, and speed up the process but usually it will take at least a year to reach that level for a start-up blogger.

You should use social media tools like Twitter, FriendFeed very efficiently. Also you may try our new social network for networking with established bloggers. Once you get friends, you may ask their support. This is another proven strategy. You may join through this link http://community.bloghology.org/home.php

you can submit your article to social bookmarking sites like:

    digg
    furl
    facebook
    diigo
    tagfoot
    mister-wong
    reddit
    stumbleupon
    jumptags
    backflip
    chipmark
    de.lirio.us

and do more directory and article submissions... good luck! :)

then I think you should add more friends and share it with them and make it public... in digg, if you digg your friends' article, you can ask them to digg yours back... so you really need to have a lot of friends.
    that's what i do. :)

Purchase Pay Per Click (PPC) ads with Yahoo Search Marketing (formerly Overture)
    (www.wilsonweb.com/afd/overture.htm) and Google AdWords
(https://adwords.google.com/select/). The top ads appear as featured links to the right of
"natural" search engine results for your keywords. Your ranking is determined by how much
you've bid for a particular search word compared to other businesses. This can be a costeffective
way to get targeted traffic, since you only pay when someone actually clicks on the
    link.

I was thinking of submitting the RSS feeds, but it shows all and the whole posts in the RSS, why? I though it was suppose to just have 2-3 sentance and then you would have to click to continue, but mine it shows the whole post.

Yes, I found it, it was there! thanks:D

Is it better to have just a short intro to the post rather then the full text in an RSS feed?

    StumbleUpon.

I once wrote this post that went big on SU and got 30,000 unique visitors. Here are a few tips on how to write social media content:

    1. Make it a list
    2. Don't make it too long
    3. Have a sense of humor
    4. Don't make it too long
    5. Don't even think about mentioning the word "blogging"

Seeing that your site is related to Italian trips (I presume), you can write this link bait post that has some interesting facts and images of Italy! :)

But if I just add random people with similar topics, and then shout to them the article, wouldn't they think thats spam?

Well, obviously you shouldn't do that. You should first Stumble a few articles to show that you are not only doing it for the traffic, and then send your friends only your best articles.

There's no point in sending them your latest article (or page) if you know it isn't going to go big. Just go with your gut.
