How do I make people trust my site? www.AmericanApparelDiscount.com

I launched this site about a month ago. I've been getting orders on it but I know I am losing a lot of potential customers.

The main and overwhelming feedback is that people do not trust it. I am in the process of planning to redesign the site and launch it again. What can I do to the design or things I should think about to make people trust it?

Any and every suggestion will help.

You should get a logo. Personally I don't trust websites that don't have logos. I don't know why haha.

Make it look good, but not too good to be true.

Good suggestions! I agree with all of it. The logo, the design, and the SSL are in the plan. I think what it is is that when someone put a lot of resources into it (which I haven't done because I just wanted to test the market to see that there is a demand for the product) it looks like they are a real serious professional company.

The review stuff is good too, but I have to figure a way to implement this and to get people to write reviews and to post it.

This was one of the hardest things for me to do when i started my hosting business, how do i make customers trust my site?

One of the biggest things is the logo for your site, the big black header, i would redesign it or pay someone to redesign it and make it look nice and match your site for maybe $30 or so.

try to get listed on sites like http://www.buzzillions.com/clothing-reviews and maybe give free coupons on sites like these and remind people to write a review, don't demand, just remind them :)

If you want quick reviews you could go to something like http://www.powerreviews.com/reviews.php however if people find out about this it would be a negative and i do not suggest this method.

I got my site listed on a directory of websites where customers could write reviews on their experience with my services i provided.

Main point is SSL. I get this error when I try to use SSL on your site
www.americanappareldiscount.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is only valid for *.webserversystems.com

    (Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)

Traffic-Bug may have gotten an error on your SSL certificate, but I couldn't even find it! And I am surprised that anyone even finds your site. It is not very professional looking and has NO SEO at all. You need to get those things fixed before you can start winning your customers confidence.

The feedback/testimonial is a great idea! going to look for plugin for this.

Jeccles, this is a test site, didn't want to spend the time and money to invest in something until I am sure that it will make good money. So far so good. The reason I am asking for feedback is that when I design the actual site I know what area to look at.

There's no SSL once again, this is a test model site to see if there's a market for what I am selling. Those 2 items are on top of the requirement list for actual site.

    Hi!
I would suggest you consider a EV SSL:

    (I can't posts links yet..just go to comodo's site.)

Sure..it's a high cost..but that is a yearly cost. Let's face it..the little lock at the corner of the screen is obsolete.

If you want people to trust your checkout..this is clearly the way to go.

That's a very interesting thought! I'll keep it in mind. When I launch the official one I won't be posting asking for advice. It'll look as if I know what I'm doing. Some type of large company. I'll just continue to test things with the this site.

Forget about everything! For an E-commerce site a personal Security Certificate is must! Buy an SSL from a reputed company like COMODO or VeriSign. Otherwise customers won't trust you.
