I am making a website which will be processing rebates, how do I make it https vs. http Can anyone explain what I can do to protect my website from being hacked. Note the most sensitive information is addresses, names, and emails. There is no phone numbers, social security numbers, account numbers or anything like that. Also the handling of the money will verified a offline backup computer, which requires me to manually initiate each rebate. Currently there are no users but I expect between 5,000 and 50,000. What should I be doing?

search on the web for ssl certificates to make your site https. It could be worth hiring a security consultant for your security requirements as losing personal information is quite serious. If you are a UK business you would need to register with the data protection registrar
