How do I make a WYSIWYG Text Editor?

I am very confident with Javascript but can't work out how to make a WYSIWYG text-editor, or would I have to use another language?

 

Javascript + css with an iframe you can make one.

That's my results, all the links are from the Mozilla website, I'm guessing it's FF only?

Also, would you have any good tutorial links to learn about .DesignMode, and is there a way to allow it, not in an iframe?
