Well... instead of regions beating my friends might make sense. For example, if I could see that "My friend Mr Black has 29 friends and I have 55 friends which is cool - but unluckily my friend Mr Blue has 107 friends". Then it might be slightly more interesting. But the problem is that... for me to get interested to sign up, I would need to see my friends there. But since my friends aren't there, I won't sign up. Sort of an egg & chicken problem in your hands. If you were to have some sort of contest where you would give rewards/prizes for joining & inviting friends to the system, then it might have some sort of chance to go viral. The prizes could be anything from T-shirts with funny slogans ("if you can't beat your enemies, beat your friends") or video games (everybody loves video games, right), spotify subscription (everybody loves music, right?) or even computers (ihpones/androids/mini macs/netbooks and so on) - then a heavily promoted campaign just might have chance. That would give me incentive to join and to ask my friends to join. Who of course might get interested to do the same.
Here is something you can do: 1. Submit your site to some directory websites, DMOZ is an important one. 2. Submit your site to more social bookmarking sites, 5 bookmarking sites are not enought. 3. Write some good articles relevant to your site or product and then submit them to article websites.
I had the idea of doing a contest as well, but then I thought how could i notify people who have signed up to the site, because I take in to personal information. I guess what I could do would have then sign up to the site, as well as become a fan of the Facebook group, so that I can contact the winners. I'm really going to site down and think of a good way for this to work! Thanks so much Game Producer!
Your site looks good. Something like this could really take off. 1. You definitely can social bookmark some more 2. Twitter, Facebook and My Space (although MySpace seems to be the younger crowd). These will be the fastest viral effect. Interacting is the key... 3. Investigate more forums 4. Create a Video: You need one that is Humorous, off the Wall or just really Unique 5. Create some type of giveaway or contest. Hope this helps!
Setting up a Facebook page these days is more exciting than ever. There more and more "templates" being released all the time. Fans of a viral page on FB will follow the links back to your website. Keep it fresh and non-spammy.
glad I could be of some assistance. you could have facebook group/page/something like that where people can join. of course by simply sending emails to people who join could be one option. good luck.
But how would I e-mail them if I do not have their e-mail addresses? Also does anyone here have any experience in asking small businesses to sponsor a contest? Thanks, Zach
ah, true. I suppose you don't get access to their emails when they join, so taking that back then. maybe you can simply send winners message via facebook - they wouldn't need to keep track on if they've won. asking for sponsors: you just gotta ask. tell what you are doing... tell how they could benefit (let them have ads on your site/in your facebook page for example) and just approach them. also ask your friends/contacts to ask people to help sponsoring your contest.
Yeah, I think it would be mandatory for everyone to enter their name in the site as well as like the mostliked.net fan page. I'm thinking some sort of point system, where each point equals their name in a drawing. So you would get two points for joining the site as well as liking the fan page, and you could get 10 points if you posted a message about it on a social network. And so on. I think something like this would give people more of an incentive to tell their friends. When contacting companies do you suggest local companies, like branches of a national company, for example the local GameStop, or contacting the national headquarters. Also thanks so so so very much! I don't know if you know this, but I'm only 15 so all this help is really much appreciated!
You should do different submission . such as: article submission bookmarking directory submission classified submission.
You have to go with more than one Press Release and try publishing it to different PR directories. It is an ongoing process.
