I heard people say my site is worth this and this..

Is that is they have adsense on it or how can someone know how much their site it worth? unique visitors? I was always wondering that

I think your sites earning capacity defines your site's worth.

The page rank, the earnings monthly and traffic. Some cases 10 times monthly earnings is an option for valuation.

But it's hard sometimes ... take Youtube for example, the value is based on potential and not earnings ... if youtube was sold on the 10 times monthly earnings method then it would be worth - minus $40 million dollars or less LoL. I feel the potential of a site can be measured by growth from previous months or years, number of active members and number of daily visits (and previous growth) ...

Its all about the database. Traffic can die overnight, but if you have thousands of email addresses etc then you have added value just for that.

sites, like most other things, are worth whatever someone else will pay for it. The only real way to find out is to put it up for sale.

What your site is worth to others is not really a factor. Whats important is how much is it worth to you? And be honest with yourself. How much time and effort have you "really" put into your site?

How much is your time worth to you and how much time have you put into your sit? The amount of time you have put into building a site is important, so dont sell yourself short. And use that as a starting price.

Here are some of the key factors which come into place.
    - Any scripts / plugins / themes used on the site.
    - The domain name + legnth of domain life.
    - The age of the website
    - The number of backlinks
    - The number of unique hits / month
    - The number of pageviwes / month
    - The earnings of the site / month

zeza1609, nobody who is not looking into buying your site can tell you how much it is worth. It could be worth $100 to a buyer, while to another it could be worth $1,000.

Vague, I know, but that is basically it.

Me, if I were to buy a site, I would look at the design of it, the userability, how much the webamster has made 6 months running, how many (unique) hits he is getting a month, and the bounce rate.

That's all I would need to know.

I don't give backlinks much weight. Many, more experienced webamsters don't. That's not to say we all don't, though.

A bit of a cliche I know, but it's worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for it.

    Easy:
Take sales rev (net) and x10 and then add a good estimate from a solid free website value calculator like:

    Hello there,

Check the PR of your site and install Google toolbar and alexa toolbar. These will give you lot of information about your site.

    Thanks,
    WS

There are many sites out there that tell you this type of thing like:

Now, these sites are going to give you a value based on the following chars.

    • Domain Age
    • Traffic
    • Page Rank
    • Alexa Rank

But, these things do NOT portray a great accurate description and price. You should base that off of your monthly sale or lead generates. If you site is generating you around $1000.00 a month. Then that site is easily worth $30,000.

This is done by simple investment and bank strategy. That you are going to easily make $12,000 a year. So most buyout and company buy out plans are on 3 to 5 year notes. So in 3 years your site would generate $36,000. So in 3 years you would have profit from it and would be able to pay off notes early.
