How do I know if my PC was hacked?

I left home,...when I came back,...I noticed all the programs running besides the hour in the bottom right of my system were OFF (Antivirus, Zone Alarm, Mouse Driver, etc.)

Why this happened? Somebody hacked me? somebody shut down my security softwares?

I have Avast Antivurs and Zone Alarm Pro, I have a router......What happened?

    Regards,

    Chewie.

It's not sure you have been hacked, sometimes when your pc plants, a process called explorer.exe is restarted and tray icons don't show up.

P.S: sorry for my bad english, i'm not english.

I would download some new malware scanners (Superantispyware & MalwareBytes). Install & fully update them.
Then I would disconnect from the internet and do full scans with each.
You could then also do a scan at the end with your Avast.
