How do I install memcache on my vps?

    Well I own a vps from www.wiredtree.com and was just wondering how do I go by installing memcache with ssh.

    I already did a wget http://memcached.googlecode.com/files/memcached-1.4.5.tar.gz to get the file but I don't understand how to install it.

    It seems to be that you are on a managed service, perhaps you could get assistance from your vps provider.

    Yeah I did get help, but since I wanted to learn how to do these things so I don't have to open up a support ticket every time I asked for the doc's one of them made so I could do it on my own, and I did and it worked out great :).
