How Do I increase the Quality of My directory?

    Hi guys

    Since I am new to directory and I have already launched my first directory as you can see in my sig.

    I am just wondering if some numbers of affiliate links, some other advertisements like moreover adsense programs makes directory Quality go down? Beside Oneway links, How can I improve the Quality of Directory?
    Please suggest.

    Suggest a necessity work hard for minimum 1 year marketing and promoting your directory and spend a lot of money getting reviews on quality paid directories and on the very few quality free directories(you have to be selective both for paid and free so you can select the quality ones)
    Strongly advise you remove the ads at least until you are established

    Promote your directory in all ways possible... as it will pay up how much u work on it... Try to build links on it & quality of links also matters.... & then try to generate income from it..... & re-invest the income back on the directory.... so after a year u will find that ur work is paying up :) this is what happened to me for my ShareNGain Web Directory in the initial months i did not get any submissions... but i managed to get some income through selling sitewides.. now i have also bought a paid PHPLD version & I have started getting submissions & i m re-investing them in buying quality links... which will in-return make the directory more powerful & attract more submissions... & i m also planning to order a custom script for this...

    Spend time (and money if you have it) building quality links to your directory, add useful articles or a good blog. If your a coder, try to make your directory a little different with some useful custom mods. Make sure every part of your directory is search engine friendly and work hard to keep it well maintained, make it look great and make it a great resource, and finally... be patient :)

    web design
    MODs

    Besides the money talk, you can put original content in category pages, especially in top categories I would recommend.

    I don't think people really make their money on ads with directories. Most people who spend any time in a directory are webmasters who don't click. You do get some clicks from SE people.

    yeah add some contetn that you think the visitor migth interest. not just only ofer the link submit service. so people will come back often and get more information from your site.
