I have been looking into adwrods recently and came accross the quality score thing they have. How easy is it to get a better quality score, how much money can i save with high quality score, and what ctr do i need for a good quality score. thanks in advance
Quality score is primarily determined by your click-through rate. To increase your quality score, write better ad copy. The easiest way to do this is to write several ads for a single ad group. Then google will rotate them automatically for you and over time will display whichever one has the best click through rate, thereby increasing your quality score. You can definitely save some money with a higher quality score. I'd say up to 20% off your max bid for a really good one.
Google's spiders also go to your site and make sure it is not a one page landing page. If it is and there are NO relevant links that have relevant content, your QS will go down. you will get slapped and that will be that.
“Quality Score is the basis for measuring the quality and relevance of your ads and determining your minimum CPC bid for Google and the search network. This score is determined by your keyword’s click through rate (CTR) on Google, and the relevance of your ad text, keyword, and landing page.†Quality score effects your keywords minimum cost per click and position in the search results and also if your ad will even show at all
The quality of your landing pages also affects your quality score. Make sure to include plenty of text on them.
TO increase Quality score follow below steps. For example you have total 100 keywords. 1. Group similar keywords & Make 4-5 groups for 100 keywords. 2. Create 4-5 Ad Groups. 3. Place Grouped keywords in respective Ad Groups. 4. Create Multiple Ads in such a way that all your keywords of that particular groups are covered in various ads. 5. Create Landing page for each group, which cover respective keyword rich contents. 6. That's All you will have "GREAT" quality score for your each keywords and this will increase your CTR too.
I dont think Google quality score algorithm is anywhere near perfect yet....at least it wasnt a few months ago. We had a site that looked like it should have a good quality score, keyword targeting on page, good CTR, full site, etc etc - We just couldnt see why it was still getting 'poor' as the score. So, we emailed Google, they manually reviewed it and sure enough for most keywords our quality score went up to 'Great' on most keywords. Now obviously you need to make sure you have fulfilled everything they say you should to get a good quality score and give Google chance to change it but in my opinion this shows that perhaps their quality score alogorith has flaws - although by now they have probably updated it again.
Improve your ads, having the keyword in your ad helps a lot. Also improve the page your ad points to.
you increase quality score by writing better text ads and improving your CTR. QS and CTR are directly related. Also remember that CTR is relevant to industry, keyword, position and historical averages. So a 10% CTR can be bad in a market where 12% CTR averages are normal and a 1% CTR can be out performing and have a really good QS is the historical average is 0.75%. Use min CPC as a gauge. Aim to get all your min cpcs to 0.05 or less and no higher than 0.10 min cpc. This is a really good performing account if this is accomplished. really good QS can expect to pay about 20% less than the competition. This is based on my experience so it can be more or less for others and other industries. But you will never expect to pay 0.05 while your competitors are paying $1. Lets be realistic Well put, this is very accurate This is incorrect and contradicts my 8 years of experience... If you can provide documented proof we would all love to see that theory proven... I have many 1 page sites that perform really really well and makes hundreds of thousands per month... plenty of text is a misconception. Google at no point says to include lots of text. If they do, please provide proof of that, but as I have proven in this thread, text is not what google is looking for in a LP... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=925125&highlight=article Thanks for proving me correct on that... I agree its far from perfect, but its what we have to work with no matter how imperfect it is
Quality Score is based on various factors, such as - * Clickthrough Rate (CTR): if CTR is good then it will increase your quality score. * Keyword relevance to the Ad: QS can be increased by relevant keywords. Too general keywords can display the ad for less relevant search query. Anyways it bring irrelevant traffic to site * Quality of Ad text: Writing quality ad text can boost up your QS as it increases the chances of getting more clicks. So here again CTR comes into picture * Landing Page Quality: Landing page should be the most relevant page for the product or services you are offering. Landing page should have relevant & original content, along with transparency & navigability. * Account History: The past performance of Ads is measured by the CTR of all the ads & keywords in the account. * Relevance of the keywords & ad to the search query: This factor is also important in deciding the Ad’s position. To increase the quality score we should: Use most refined & related keywords (Specific keywords not too general). * Use different keywords matching options as per the requirements. * Take care of the keyword grouping as per the theme of the ad group * Create clear, relevant, convincing & appealing ad text * Try to include call to action phrase (esp. when we are targeting the visitors in buying phase) * Send users to the best possible & relevant landing page where visitors can easily find what they are looking for. Hope it will help
I don't know if providing this link is helpful to your cause considering the evidence against you: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=925125&highlight=article This is a rather large assertion w/o proof: "I have many 1 page sites that perform really really well and makes hundreds of thousands per month..." I'd be surprised if you had one 1-page site making $100,000 a month.
