What is the quickest way to increase PR?? is it quality content or simply having backlinks from plenty of sites?? or is it having High PR backlinks from plenty of sites?? Will directory listings with high PR help me out or should I go for 'actual' sites ?? Thanks in advance, Jared.

I think there is no easiest way to increase pagerank but you have to get as many good quality links to your page that are relevant to the content of your page as you can. There are many ways to get links including, reciprocal linking with other sites, posting on blogs and forums, article marketing, and press releases just to name a few. Having High PR backlinks from plenty of sites is not a solution for getting backlinks easily but a link building techniques to a related site but also to content and or on-page optimization. directory listings with high pr is not also a solution but the best things you do is to submit it to related site and wait for google page rank update.
So it is agreed that directory submission - even high PR submission is not brilliant for PR ??? What about just SEO?

Content is the king to get visiblity in search engines for any site ... for one way links from directories is the best way to get site PR and perform all the SEO activities..
PR is about backlinks only. Content has nothing to do with it. Just get more backlinks from high PR sites.
Good content and quality back links will work wonders, You need to get links to your page from high PR sites. Good quality back links will raise your PR.
I have lots of back links, but still PR 0 I did manage to get up to PR 1 for a while but then it dropped when I neglected my site for a while. I think you just need to keep adding quality content to your website and keep building back links solidly, both with high PR and sites that are related to your niche.
adding content will keep the spiders on your site and eventually maybe give you site links . i also neglected a site for a while, it lost site links and dropped PR
I think the biggest and most important question here is: Why worry about PR? What do you expect to gain by growing your PR?
1. write about education, edu blog or edu site. Google likes education content and your site or blog will have high PR. 2. do not write paid review on your blog. 3. do not put hidden link code. 4. do not put illegal content.
Most of the information from PR10.com will get your site in trouble. Hidding links and text will certainly get your site banned or punished and all the linking ideas they have may have worked in the 90's but those days are long gone!
In my experience the best way to get your page highly ranked in google is to make it a worthy site!! All you need is: Good content Time But yes there are very many ways to speed this up and cut corners. Placing incoming links on other sites with similar content is the fastest way to do things. Be imaginative!
