One of the factors that affect page rank is the number of inbound links that you are getting. But its not just the number but the quality. Google gives more value on the quality compared to those irrelevant sites that you are getting. Quality is better than quantity right?
yes, quality is definitely better than quantity..in 99% of cases..but is this all that affects page rank?
So does it matter how many hits your site gets? Because right now my site is going back and forth from page 10-12, but idk whats causing that. Is it by consecutive x amount of hits per day to keep it steady or to move up or what?
You cannot artificially "increase" it just like that...If you want to improve it, there are several factors you need to take care of: Site's age, backlinks, relevant backlinks, backlinks from authority sites, backlinks/posts/articles on your product/service/site from relevant sites, PageRank of the page where your link is found on another site, quality directory listings, unique content, media representation, gov/edu links or mention, social bookmarks for the site...and etc etc etc... It's hard work!
by page rank, i assume you mean toolbar PR. if thats the case, then its totally dependant on backlinks. if you mean SERP ranking, then there are lot of factors considered but most important is the content, onpage optimization, and quality of relevant backlinks
Create unique and quality content, building backlinks from quality sites, submit to web directories, etc.
SERPs (search engine results pages) are what you want and these guys are right on. Follow their advice and your SERPs will climb along with your PR. Good Luck!
I agree also on this. Increase ranking on SERP's will also help you to increase your page rank. You can also do link exchange to other websites.
In order to increase your PR, you should get backlinks from high pr pages with dofollow and with a small number of outbound links. Try blog commenting, you can get a lot of link juice from there.
The fastest way to do this is to comment on other blogs like everybody said - on DO FOLLOW blogs. This will not just affect on your PR and SEO, but also will increase your traffic.
It think the quality dofollow backlinks with your keywords in anchor text from all higher PR sources would help your PR definitely.
