How do I improve my Alexa Rating.

    Hello everyone!
Our website is currently getting 460 000 average page views daily and an average of 5800 visits per day (99% North American)
Sadly our Alexa rating is still very bad. It's been a few weeks and we're not seeing any major changes in the Alexa rating (while our visits and page views still grow)
Why is it so low despite our very high traffic? And is there a way to improve it?

    Regards,
    unsealed.

Let's go to Alexa, hit "Site Tools" and choose Site Widget. Embed Alexa into your footer and you 'll see how diffirent. :)

alexa doesn't matter, not in very important elements.. it's just another visitor stat counter, unless you use their services..
i'd prefer driving visitors traffic with facebook pages and twitter. it's a bestfriendly-users/visitors, and definetely they affects your alexa rank too..
both webmasters and visitors will get what they want..

I think it does matter, since nowadays, ad companies(beside adsense and adbrite) actually care about your rating. Especially in the high paying CPM market. So we want to improve our rank on alexa. Casale refused us JUST because of our alexa rankings. Thanks all! If you have more advices on how to boost it let me know.

Also thanks Danasurvey! We're trying to improve them!

Lol how can you say Alexa doesn't matter? It does matter what do you think how Internet marketers find sites for media buys?
We go to Alexa we search for keywords we are interested and based on Alexa rating we select sites to promote.

To OP Stanker is right, give it few weeks and you will see dramatic change with Alexa.

I agree with you. Alexa does matter. Even the cost of a domain is calculated by an alexa rank!

    Hello friend,

Why you are focus on making this large Alexa ranking? But instead, you could be the focus on building you bank account? This will impress many of your mother and friends more than making the large Alexa rankings.

    Good luck bro!

You can improve your Alexa Ranking by getting more visitors to your site which goes back to good SEO, but an Alexa Ranking is not really important unless you intend on selling the site

Adding the Alexa toolbar really helps a ton i guess just not that many people use it or something. My site doesn't get even close to the traffic yours does and i've watched my ranking go up to 800,000 already

Well as I stated before, I do not think it's a matter of traffic. I have good SEO, and I have tremendous traffic atm. But still even with the alexa toolbar I'm barely going down by 20 000 worldwide daily. When I know I have way more traffic then at least half the websites below me. Currently @ 1 000 000
And I keep being refused in the good CPM companies. Meanwhile the CPC on my current ad company is lowering everyday...stuck @ 0.55 cpc today. Which isn't enough for the ammount of work we put in the website. Suggestions? I've tried e-mailing alexa. With no response. If I go premium on Alexa will it improve my rating?

Yea that really surprises me that your rating could be that low. I only get like 50 hits a day and my alexa rating is higher than yours haha it doesn't make sense. I wonder how mine could be that high I figure it has to be from pretty much just me and 1 other person using the alexa toolbar and going to the site consistently (it's set as our homepage and I go online a lot) throughout the day. Mine has been raising by 50,000 or more a day still consistently and my US rating has gotten really high. I recommend you get friends or others who go to your site regularly to install the alexa toolbar and make sure you go to your site consistently throughout the day and all. I still don't see how yours could be that low though cause you gotta figure some of those thousands of visitors have the toolbar installed.

I'm guessing my niche doesn't have the toolbar installed... I'll try to get a few people to get alexa, and I'll send a mass e-mail to my users to get alexa...I just don't know why they would but hey! If only a few do! I guess it'll help! Thanks GarretB I hope that works :p
