Are there any plugins that will easily allow users to subscribe to new posts on my site? My site is http://liljosh.com Currently I have a RSS link, Tweet this post, and like buttons for each post. I usually post my entries on Twitter after they are published but I would like a better way to build a userbase. Maybe with a list serve or mailing list of some kind. Any thoughts? How do I allow people to subscribe to my site and receive updates? - Lil Josh liljosh.com web developer
Use RSS and post interesting and informative articles. It will force people to read and subcribe to your site. Also you may send beautiful newsletters to your subscribers. For example you may try MailChimp.
Feedburner has an email subscription feature that allows readers to subscribe to your posts by email. If you need more control over the subscribers, autoresponders like AWeber and GetResponse is recommended.
You can buy a reseller license of a ebook that suits your site, give it away for free, or actually for a subscription. Works most of the time perfect if you find a suitable book.
You'll need an email provider first so as to comply with spam laws. Once that's in place there are a few plugin scripts that allow the placing or popup of subscription forms to appear.
i advice you to make your fanpage on facebook or other social networks. people are lazy to visit your page everyday, but if you encourage them with catchy titles in facebook they will subscribe to your blog, read and comment your articles. moreover, this will help you to get more and more fans and subscribers!
