How do I get started?

I want to make my own word press theme, I have photo shop, is there a tutorial or something for us beginners?

 

I would start off by downloading a blank wordpress theme and just modifying the graphic elements (such as the header).

Did you want to learn how to code too?

 

Nah, just designing for now..

 

Then you should use a skeleton.. OR just design a theme PSD in photoshop.

You'll need:
1) header
2) blogroll
3) content/blog post area
4) footer

That's about it.

Take any Wordpress design theme you like and try to recreate it in Photoshop. I think this exercise is better than any tutorial.
