How Do I Get Pics of Items I Want to Advertise from Amazon?

What I'm doing now is write about an Amazon product and put Amazon's link code to their product. I would like to show a picture of the product that I'm selling, but I know I can't use Amazon's picture. The closest picture I can get is the text and picture iframe from Amazon in which I refuse to put on because of SEO purposes. So, my question is, where can I get pics of Amazon products LEGALLY?

    Salam n Hola

I'm not sure about the legality of using amazon's product images. However, Amazon do provide a wealth of image functions for its images. All that's required is by adding some additional codes into the amazon image url.

Take a look at this page on how to utilize amazon's image link to get your desired image from amazon

Personally, I think, as long as you're using the images to promote the amazon product itself, then it should be ok to use the product images in your website. Check out the Associates agreement.

I have 20+ sites filled with Amazons images, product reviews, widgets, customer reviews and more.

Heck I use iframe and can rank well with those on the page....SEO is more than just page content......where one part is weak... you can overcome that with some great links or other seo aspects....

You can use it as soon as you download it to your servers. Or you can use combined text+graphics link in such case you do not have to download the image. The most comfrtable would be to use the AWS feed, you have everything at hand and you don´t have to download anything...

Dude, just go to Google images and find what you need, what's the big deal ? If you are selling Sony Playstations and you need another angle or something, go get it.

Product photos are for promotion and advertising, that's why they put them out there. Just steer clear of any staged photos...use the ones from the company.

If you notice most product photos are from the same mold, there are maybe 2-5 photos of a product that are exactly the same all over the web.

You might want to check the laws about using IP without permission. Using images without permission can subject you to legal ramifications.

That is what the big deal is.....;)

Product promo images are there to promote the product. That is why they put them out...if you feel uneasy about it, just go to the company website of the product that you are promoting, and most times they will have a press release of the product launch along with images to use for promotions, and press.

There is no big legal battle to it if you are using them properly.

The Images on Google Images are there because Google took them under the fair use arguement and have lawyers and money to defend that action!!!

You are giving poor advice...telling people to just surf to a companies site and take their IP??????

Why not add this line from now on

    Write and ask permission first!!!!!!

Dude.....Promotional photos are available to the press for all new product launches and even old products. Many sites even have a "Press" section so that you can get all the information that you need to promote a product, service or event.

Trust me, I promote events on my blog all the time and I get tons of promotional photos for reprint, or go to the event website and download the press pack.
    This is not new stuff.

I didn't mean to insinuate that you should take what ever you need from Google images, I meant to look for the promo photos. you can tell the difference.
You can even search for "Promo images" , and "press packs".

Or, sign up on the mailing list for future promotions.

Where do you think think thousands of bloggers and writers who do product reviews get the images from ?

But to clear it up...the way I started was to contact as many companies as I could and told them to put me on their press and promo list. So now they send me their stuff, and it snowballed into others sending in stuff because they now know that I write about their products.

So , it' s probably best if you do it that way first, then you will know the difference between an image that has been created by a 3rd party and one who's sole purpose is to be used for promotion by the press, and authorized resellers.

Can you take an image of a Buick to protest animal rights...of course not, but can you use a promo photo of a Playstation to sell Playstations? Of course you can if you are an authorized reseller, which most times applies to affiliate marketers as well.

Every image is not open season, but promotional photos are for the press to promote..

ok...I see we have a little battle here. Tell you what - if I want to advertise an Amazon product...I'm assuming I can use the pics from Amazon w/out their permission - correct?
