How do I get photos on Google Images?

Wow I must be missing something. I was trying to figure out how to add some of my photos to Google images. Can anyone help? Is there a link to submit images or are they picked by random by Google?

    Thanks

When you use an image in a post, add and alt tag, and make sure you do not use the rel=nofollow on the image. Your images should be getting indexed by google images. If their not, make sure the /images folder is not blocked by the robots.txt file.

After you post an image in an article, it might be several weeks before its listed with google images.

It just happens naturally. It also helps if you include IPTC data in your images (things like keywords, title, description, etc).

There is no link to submit images.

If you have images on pages that have incoming links, Google will find them,
but WHERE will they show them? For what image search?

The trick is to surround your image with your keywords. And put your
keywords in the image title and alt attributes.

buy a new car here (image of new car) find a new car here

As others said, it takes weeks and weeks.
    good luck,

You should name your images as keywords.

So if you sell Red Widgets, then one of the images on your site should be red_widgets.gif for example.

You can log into Google Webmaster Tools and if your site is verified, you will be able to allow Google to crawl your images for inclusion in the SERPs.

Yes images will drive targeted traffic to your site if it is something that makes sense.

To get photos on their photo index you will have to have it on a web page embedded, not linked to. Make sure you have proper alt/title tags on the image to give it some weight in their SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). Don't have too many keywords on the image as that will look suspecious.

    Some good pointers are:

    • Don't have very big images as they will bloat the screen and will cause you to loose ranking
    • Don't uveruse the alt/title tags on the image. Make sure they are appropriate
    • Don't put alt/title tags on images that appear on every page unless its a backlink to some sort of valuable site. Images like Report This Page is worthless in the SERPs and you don't want them to get indexed.

name and tag your image description correctly. that's all. Use "-" to separate keywords and do not forget to place them into relevant paragraphs of text.
