My site is www.trafic-blowout.com. I have been constantly marketing for a week and have tried everything. So far there is only 1 peoson. How do i get people to join, short-term. I have already submitted to directorys for long-term SEO.

you should add a sign-up form right on the main page if you want people to subscribe

For some reason your page wouldn't load, but anyway if its a blog at the end of each post you can put something like "subscribe to my newsletter to get updates on more stuff like this" or whatever.

Have quality content and make sure that you "hook" the views to want to subscribe to get so and so benefits.

You may find good free ebook in your niche then offer anyone who visited your site to subscribe your mailing list to get free e-book. :D

Offer unique (and good) content to newsletter subscribers only
Offer a prize (like 530 said) for newsletter subscribers only

Offer something of value that is free that would interest them and make them want to join. Everybody is usually looking for something FREE!

JV with people who own lists in your niche.

It's a little hard to get a list of IMers running without some sort of creative and agressive tactics...it will take quite a bit of time. But goodluck!

Actually put good stuff in the newsletter. Most webmasters use newsletters simply as advertising to maintain traffic, really put effort into your newsletters and write the articles yourself.

Also, create a forum on your site, and create buzz about your newsletter's next mailing, that is what I did.

I wrote five 1000+ word articles myself, buzzed my newsletter on my forum, and I am getting about 3 new subscribers per day, it is pretty nice, I just need to find a good newsletter service to get it automated.

Here is my site if you need some reference on what many signups:

Agreed with all the above suggestions. Consider adding a bonus giveaway for new subscribers that was mentioned earlier. Something instant, like a PDF or MP3 download carry some weight. Make sure you assign a $$ value to the giveaway so it carries perceived value.

one thing i noticed about your site it's that it could use more user-friendliness. you have the "sign up for our newsletter" on your homepage, which is good, but no indication on how people could do that. you must assume people are lazy and don't want to look too far for information (that's why information is such a lucrative business). maybe you want to put your sign up form directly under that section.

then, your 'contact us' page should have a form on that page itself. very rarely would people actually bother to open up their email program, copy and paste your address into their To: field and click send. people want easy job. give it to them.

also, your 'articles' page is kinda misleading. when i clicked it, i expected to see some articles about traffic, but i got an "advertise here!" paragraph. perhaps move your front-page articles to that page? you could put a "featured articles" on the homepage.

    all the best!

Tell your potential subscribers what you'll be writing about next to the link to "sign up for my newsletter". People like to know what they'll be receiving.
