Lets say I come up with a 10 or 20 page special report/ ebook that I want to use for marketing purposes. It would be high quality info on a health related topic, with links to my sites going back to it. I would give it out free, and want to make it viral. What do I do?
I've heard somewhere that some people submit them to free ebook directories and use some kind of P2P software to upload them. This sounds good to me. I haven't tried it yet, but I will soon.
ruthlessagent Do you have a website? I believe that is the first thing you should think of getting if you want your free ebook to get to as many people as possible. Remember this; you are connected to endless opportunities with your website. Next thing i suggest is you join different internet forums and make posts like you did here on digital Points. To get people to come to your site and sign up for your ebook you should place a link to your site in your sig file. Some forums allow you to use your website link in your sig file. Apparently digitalpoint only allows you to place a sig file after a certain period of posting. Well ruthlessagent i am new to IM but try it out.
You could try BitTorrent and yes I can help you in this respect a bit. If you are interested drop me a PM. Edit: BTW: You can reasonably expect about 2000 downloads in 2 weeks with my approach and that's being conservative
There are tons of free ebook directories. I can't get one directly off my mind, but there are many. Google it.
do you have a website? if not, put up a opt-in page and give away your ebook and collect the names and emails. as far as traffic, use, blogs, forums, social bookmarking, articles, etc.
Also try and promote it in the freebies sections of different related forums, to get more users to read it.
Apply as a supplier to as many Joint Venture Giveaways as you can find. Not only will you get a lot of exposure through the efforts of all the suppliers but a goodly amount of opt-in leads as well. Good luck
